GNA Award - William Myers William Myers submitted two exhibits at the Georgia Numismatic Association meeting in Dalton, GA April 22-24, 2005 in the Senior catagory. He received 1st Place (Senior Best of Show) for his exhibit entitled Clasped Hands - A Numismatic History. The exhibit detailed the use of clasped hands on coins, currency and tokens from ancient times to the current 2004 peace medal 5 cents coin. He was awarded an 1880-S Morgan $1 (MS65) in a holder. He received 2nd Place (1st Runner Up) for his exhibit entitled AAFES POGS. The exhibit detailed the history and use of POGs (cardboard disc) as a substitute for change for the United States Military deployed in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. He was awarded a 1935-P Buffalo 5c (MS65) in a holder Club member, William Myers is a physician in the Army and specializes in "hands". |
